New national platform brings together government, technology providers, brands and entrepreneurs as the country's digital commerce market accelerates

The Philippines' rapidly expanding e-commerce sector is entering a new phase of growth—one that requires businesses to move beyond simply selling online and toward building integrated digital operations, strategic partnerships and sustainable customer relationships.

Against this backdrop, government leaders, entrepreneurs and industry experts officially launched E-Commerce Expo Philippines (ECOMEX) 2026 on July 9, introducing a national platform designed to help businesses navigate the increasingly sophisticated demands of digital commerce.

Powered by PHILSME and organized by MediaTrix Solutions Inc., ECOMEX is the Philippines' biggest expo, conference, and networking event for entrepreneurs, online sellers, and digital innovators. Scheduled on November 20–21, 2026 at SMX Convention Center Aura, Taguig, the event will convene more than 5,000 business owners and industry stakeholders, over 130 exhibitors, technology providers, marketplaces, logistics companies, fintech firms, investors, educators and government agencies.

The launch comes as industry projections estimate the Philippine e-commerce market will grow from approximately USD 20 billion in 2026 to nearly USD 38 billion by 2031, fueled by continued digital adoption, mobile commerce, improved logistics infrastructure and government initiatives supporting digital transformation.

More than 40 international, regional and local media organizations joined the virtual Media and Ecosystem Launch through Zoom and the ECOMEX and PHILSME social media livestreams, reflecting growing interest in the country's digital commerce economy.

Opening the launch, Trixie Esguerra-Abrenilla, Founder and Organizer of ECOMEX and CEO and Managing Director of the Philippine SME Business Expo (PHILSME), said today's digital marketplace demands far more than simply establishing an online presence.

"Philippine e-commerce success depends on execution across the entire customer journey. The challenge is no longer simply how to sell online, but how to acquire, convert, fulfill and retain customers. These are exactly the kinds of questions ECOMEX is built to address."

Esguerra-Abrenilla said ECOMEX was established to bring together the complete ecosystem that businesses need to succeed—from technology and payments to logistics, digital marketing, AI solutions, education, financing and strategic partnerships. Rather than functioning solely as an exhibition, she said, the platform is designed to equip entrepreneurs with practical solutions for every stage of business growth.

In a recorded keynote message, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) E-Commerce Bureau Director Eryl Royce Nagtalon emphasized that sustaining the country's digital economy requires collaboration among government, businesses, consumers and industry stakeholders.

"Maintaining a safe and reliable e-commerce environment is a shared responsibility. Achieving this requires all of us—the government, the industry, and every Filipino entrepreneur and consumer—working together."

Nagtalon said strengthening trust in the digital marketplace remains essential to enabling more Filipino businesses to embrace e-commerce and compete in an increasingly connected economy.

Digital entrepreneur and content strategist Reymond "Boss RDR" Delos Santos highlighted the growing contribution of digital entrepreneurship to the Philippine economy, encouraging more businesses to embrace innovation and online commerce as drivers of long-term growth.

"E-commerce is the dark horse of the Philippine economy."

Delos Santos said many Filipino entrepreneurs have successfully transformed traditional businesses into thriving online enterprises by combining digital platforms, content creation and community building. He added that ECOMEX provides an important venue where business owners can learn from practitioners, discover emerging technologies and build partnerships that accelerate growth.

Entrepreneur, author and financial educator Coach Chinkee Tan underscored the importance of building strong brands as businesses compete in an increasingly digital marketplace. Drawing from his own entrepreneurial experience, he encouraged business owners to look beyond products and focus on creating trust, credibility and lasting customer relationships.

"People buy brands. They don't only buy products."

Tan said e-commerce has lowered barriers for entrepreneurs to reach customers, but long-term success depends on continuously learning, adapting to changing consumer behavior and building businesses that people trust. He encouraged entrepreneurs to invest in education, connect with experienced practitioners and participate in industry events that provide practical strategies and meaningful business networks.

Organizers said ECOMEX was conceived as a long-term industry platform where government, technology providers, marketplaces, logistics companies, fintech firms, investors, educators and entrepreneurs can collaborate to strengthen the Philippine digital commerce ecosystem and help businesses compete more effectively in regional and global markets.

Powered by PHILSME and organized by MediaTrix Solutions Inc., ECOMEX builds on the organization's track record of creating business platforms that connect enterprises with opportunities for learning, networking and growth while supporting the continued digital transformation of Philippine businesses.

ECOMEX is the Philippines' biggest expo, conference, and networking event for entrepreneurs, online sellers, and digital innovators.

Exhibitor, sponsorship, speaking and partnership opportunities are now open for E-Commerce Expo Philippines (ECOMEX) 2026. Businesses, technology providers, marketplaces, logistics companies, fintech firms, agencies, consultants and organizations looking to engage with the country's growing digital commerce ecosystem are encouraged to secure their participation early.
