Concrete pipes are either laid down or climbing up vertically when concreting. If laying horizontally, pipes bottom-halves often wear out faster then the upper half that does not come in contact with concrete. Therefore concrete pump operator will rotate the 5" pipe 180 degree so that the thin-out bottom part can faces the ceiling, while intact part facing down, since concrete will flow and in touch with the bottom half for its weight and principal of gravity, so the shelf life of concrete pipe is extended and become cost efficient. However, the pipe flange will worm out, which is the part where snap lever is used to connect between pipes.
