The Indonesian and UK Governments have signed a historic Maritime Partnership Programme (MPP) valued at £4 billion (approx. Rp 87 trillion), agreed upon during a meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and PM Keir Starmer on Saturday, November 22, 2025. This cooperation aims to significantly enhance Indonesia's maritime capabilities and food security.

The UK and Indonesia have partnered for maritime development, with the UK assisting the Indonesian Navy and Babcock leading the construction of over 1,000 new fishing vessels in Indonesia using British expertise, thereby boosting local manufacturing, food production, and national maritime security. This mutually beneficial deal secures over 1,000 UK jobs and includes vital components like technology transfer, joint research in next-generation shipbuilding (focusing on AI and automation), and educational collaboration to share skills in precision engineering and digital ship design.

Fueled by the expansion of Indonesia’s marine industry, the INAMARINE 2025 exhibition was a major success. The exhibition was officially opened by high-level dignitaries and stakeholders in Indonesia's infrastructure and transportation ecosystem, including Coordinating Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).

INAMARINE 2025 also brought together 241 exhibitors from 19 countries and over 20,000 trade visitors from 35 countries. For three days, professionals and enthusiasts from the marine industry came together to discover the latest market trends and solutions. They also forged key business partnerships and gained valuable insights from seminars led by expert speakers who shared their knowledge on cutting-edge technologies.

After the great success of INAMARINE 2025, GEM Indonesia will present again INAMARINE 2026 – Indonesia’s Largest International Trade Show for Maritime, Offshore, Safety & Welding Industry. The exhibition is ready to be held from July 28–30, 2026, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Known as Indonesia’s only B2B exhibition held annually for marine industry, INAMARINE 2026 is colocated with several concurrent events—including Indonesia Boat Show, INAWELDING, INACOATING, and HSE Indonesia 2026. This collaboration creates a comprehensive "One Stop Solution" for the marine industry, showcasing a full range of products and services for shipbuilding, shipyard, marine communications systems, marine engine & equipment, digitalization zone, and much more.
