IS Lubricants
I.S. bottle forming machines are running with pneumatic systems; these systems need to be lubricated correctly with a minimum maintenance frequency. Therefore, following properties of the lubricants need to be controlled: resistant to air humidity or water contamination, long life & performant lubrication & stable to oxidation.
For many years, Glassline® IS Specials oils have demonstrated top performances as:
- Water/humidity stable – can absorb water/humidity from compressed air up to 10% of its original weight
- High level of Extreme Pressure lubrication – see our results for the 4-ball Shell wear test
- Neutral effect on metal – pass all corrosion tests
- Wide temperature conditions – viscosity index from 90 to 149
- Extended injection time – up to double value of standard market oils, result up to 90min
Our customers have observed below results:
- Lubrication system cycle time can be extended, oil consumption reduced and hydraulicing effects due to over oiling eliminated.
- Glassline® IS Special oils are the most performant & economical product available on the market for lubrication of IS machines.
Shear spray lubricants
Glassline Synshear spray lubricants are 100% fully miscible shearing fluids specifically designed for the glass industry.
They do not contain mineral oils, silicones or animal fats.
Disposal of water emulsions based on petroleum oils is now forbidden by legislation in most countries while lubricants based on animal fats, like lard oils, are problematic for religion aspects.
The Synshear spray lubricants are fully synthetic and biodegradable. Non temperature sensitive with a excellent hard water stability.
Delivery Lubricants
Glassline scoop lubricants are funnel and scoop spray lubricants manufactured from severely hydrotreated mineral oils producing safe, non-toxic lubricants to lubricate the scoops and delivery system without carbon deposits.
Blank Swabbing Compounds
Glassline blank mould lubricants are formulated with special graphite compounds having exceptional low ash content.
The type, mesh size and concentration of the various graphites used is optimized for excellent mold surface.
Transfer and buildup of graphite is minimized while high quality appearance is maintained over an extended period and down time to change dirty blanks is reduced.
Extended swabbing cycles and maintaining a clean product have been accomplished by the Glassline blank mould swabbing compounds with high production efficiency for specific types of jobs.
Glassline blank mould lubricants cover a variety of applications going from general purpose to specific applications such as high speed production, high quality cosmetic ware as well as graphite free compounds for opal ware.
Pressware – spray lubricants
Glassline Safe Spray lubricants are formulated for forming and production of pharmaceutical and food packaging to respond to HACCP requirements in the pressware industry.
Safe Spray lubricants are synthetic based liquids and do not produce smoke and any toxic by-products.
Safe Spray lubricants have been extensively tested in independent laboratory and in production to demonstrate the exceptional non-toxic properties against normal oil based lubricants.
Automatic Swabbing Compounds
SwabMatic 180 has been designed to generate high level of swabbing performances by using an automatic spray system installed on cast iron moulds . Such system requires frequent, stable & efficient swabbing cycles and maintains a clean product during automatic swabbing spray process. Once automatic spray parameters defined, the system will work smoothly without shutdown interruptions. Transfer and build-up of carbon is minimized, therefore high quality appearance is maintained over an extended period and down time to change dirty blanks is reduced.
We also developed SwabMatic 180 NS which can be used on sulphur corrosion sensitive moulds (e.g. bronze).
Both SwabMatic 180 and 180 NS do not contain ingredients of animal origin, such as fatty acid from Lard Oil.
Pharmaceutical swabbing compound
SWABPHARMA-I
This innovative swabbing compound is generating a very performant mould lubrication and leaving glass well finished and clean. Carbon deposits and emissions are reduced to a minimum and reaching levels much lower than traditional swabbing compounds.
Glassline® SwabPharma-I has been tested & approved on borosilicate pharmaceutical glass Type-I.
Oil mist produced after swabbing of heated mould is considerably reduced to avoid operator exposition to dangerous emissions. Additionally, emissions such as PAH – Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons have been decreased by more than 80%.
Glassline® SwabPharma does not contain ingredients of animal origin, such as fatty acids from lard oil.
Neck ring lubricants
Glassline neck ring lubricants are designed to be consistent and stable.
We do not recommend mixing blank mould lubricants with other oils.
Neck ring lubricants are in general lower in viscosity as the rings requires less lubrication. Using blank mould dopes or mixed products will result in build up of carbon between the guide plate and ring, as clearances are narrow.
Using specific neck ring lubricants will avoid distorted finish and sticking of guide rings.
Reducing oil viscosity can also lead to over-lubrication or splashing on the plunger.
Glassline neck ring lubricants are widely used over years in typical applications covering a wide variety of ware such as wine, beer, cosmetic and pharmaceutical ware.
