Stainless Steels consist a range of corrosion resistant steels that contains a minimum of 11% Chromium. The mechanical and physical properties of te steel can be changed by the chromium content and the adding of other chemical elements such as Nickel, Molybdenum, Titanium and Niobium. 
There are a number of stainless steel grades that are covered by a range of national and international standards. 
Stainless Steel can be grouped into five categories : Austenitic Stainless Steel , Ferritic Stainless Steel , Duplex Stainless Steel , Martensitic Stainless Steel &amp; Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel.

<li>Common Austenitic Stainless Steels are SUS304 , SUS316 &amp; SUS303 - Excellent corrosion resistance &amp; weldability, non-magnetic when annealed. </li>
<li>Common Ferricitic Stainless Steels are SUS430, SUS409 - Magnetic , cannot be hardened by heat treatment &amp; poor weldability for most grades. </li>

<li>Common Martensitic Stainless Steels are SUS420 , 440C - Magnetic , heat treatable but poor weldability </li>

Features of Martensitic Stainless Steel (Magnetic Stainless Steel) includes :

Common Martensitic Stainless Steel includes Stainless Steel 420 (SUS420) , which is used in engineering applications such as shaft &amp; Stainless Steel 440 (SUS440C) , which is the hardest and most abrasion resistant of all the stainless steel.

Carbon Steel are iro-carbon alloys containing up to 2.06% of carbon , up to 1.65% of maganese , up to 0.5% of silicon and sulfur and phosphorus as impurities. 
Carbon Content in Carbon Steel determines its strength and ductility. 
The higher carbon content , the higher steel strength and the lowers its ductility. 

It can be classified into :

Titanium is considered to be one of the strongest metals. Its strength, heat, water and salt resistance, and its light weight make it the ideal metal for a variety of applications. These applications range from jewelry and dental implants to airplanes and ships.

Titanium can be classified into : 
Commercially Pure Titanium (CP Titanium) :

<li>Titanium Grade 1 , Titanium Grade 2 , Titanium Grade 3 , Titanium Grade 4 - Titanium Grade 1 has the highest corrosion resistance , formability , and lowest strength - Titanium Grade 4 offers the highest strength with moderate formability. </li>

Titanium Alloys :

<li>Titanium Grade 5 (Ti 6AL-4V) , Titanium Grade 23 (TI 6AL-4V ELI) , Titanium Grade 12 (Ti 3AL 2.5) , Titanium Grade 6 (Ti 5AL-2.5Sn) - Titanium Alloys retain the same strength and corrosion resistance, but takes on the greater flexibility and malleability of the metal it is combined with. Titanium alloys, therefore, have more applications than pure titanium.</li>

Types of Nickel Alloys : 
Nickel will alloy easily with most of the metals like copper , chromium , iron and molybdenum. 
By adding the nickel to other metals , it will alter the properties of the resulting alloy and can be used to produce desired charateristics. Desired Characteristics such as improved corrosion or oxidation resistance , increased high-temperature performance, or lower coefficients of thermal expansion, etc.
